Description

Based on the Windermere steam yacht ESPERANCE she was designed for use as a passenger boat near Boroughbridge.
The Esperance styling calls for an extended overhanging straight bow proper counter stern and half length cabin. She remains essentially a barge under water. Although a passenger boat and conforming to the MCA requirements of the day she shows the possible diversification of styles of based on a barge hull.
She would make either an excellent passenger boat or cold be changed to form a gentleman’s yacht or a touring barge. Cabin length could easily be changed for greater accommodation.
